SurveyTime Review: How it Changed

Survey Times is a paid survey platform launched back in 2018. It’s owned by Persona.ly, an ad tech company that provides market research sampling solutions.

The platform claims over 10 million users who’ve earned more than $5 million total.

Back then it was simple $0.5 to $1 per survey, no minimum payout, and instant rewards.

But things have changed a lot since then and not for the better.

Like $0.5 to $1 per completed survey was the flat rate for every survey, regardless of length or your country but the platform has changed its reward system.

Rewards now vary depending on the individual survey, and the reviewer considers this a significant downgrade.

How It Works

You sign up with your name and email, but the thing is the platform sends you the password when you verify your email. Security it is measure designed to verify the email, and you can change it later.

After registering, you fill out a profile survey so they can match you with relevant questionnaires, it takes about 10-15 minutes.

Some questions appear multiple times which is too annoying like they asked me which city I live at? 5 times but it’s their way of checking if you’re answering consistently.

Now they use a “survey scanner” that searches for surveys matching your profile. When a survey is found, you see the expected duration and reward.

But seeing a survey doesn’t guarantee qualification, you can still get screened out.

What’s New

Atoms System: This is their disqualification compensation. You get 10 Atoms for a small payment when you’re screened out. Ten Atoms equals $0.01. You can also earn Atoms by maintaining a daily streak attempting at least one survey per day.

Rebate Bonus: If you accumulate $10 or more before cashing out, you get a $0.50 bonus added to your wallet.

Payouts: What’s Changed

The Old WayThe New Way
$0.5-$1 per surveyVariable rewards per survey
No minimum payout $5 minimum withdrawal threshold
Limited payment optionsMultiple payout options: PayPal, Bitcoin (via Lightning Network), and gift cards
Payments are sent instantly Phone number verification required before receiving rewards

I liked the no minimum payout about this platform, well $5 is still relatively low, but the no minimum payout feature was what made it stand out from other survey sites.

What Users Are Actually Saying

Survey Times has a warning on its Trustpilot page due to a breach of guidelines, and the user ratings are not visible.

What guidelines they are breaching? Well, it given the profile that they are displaying Trustpilot content in a way that could be misleading for users.

But we can still see the percentage of stars they have received from users:

73% five-star ratings quite impressive huh looks great when you see. But the latest rating and reviews after the new phase or update are not quite good like user have reported common issues like:

Payment Failure: This is the #1 complaint; users have reported frequent payment delays and also reported getting a status Code 400 error when trying to cash out or even login into their account (I have faced the login issue).

ID and Profile Verification: Users report the system asks for phone and ID verification to process payments, but the payments are still not clear after the verification part, and some have reported facing difficulties verifying their phone numbers.

Nonresponsive Customer Support: Customer support is often slow to respond, with some users reporting unanswered emails and multiple follow-ups being necessary.

My Final Thoughts

I have been using the platform since 2021 just because of the instant layout thing honestly.

It used to be one of the fastest paying survey sites out there. The instant payout feature was genuinely attractive.

But the platform has gone through updates that reduced the value. User complaints are piling up; trust scores are dropping and some users report receiving little or no response from customer support. Also, the payment failure is one of the main issues.

If you want to try it, go ahead as some people do still make money from it. But here’s what I’d tell you:

  • Don’t invest hours expecting a big payoff
  • You may face payment issues
  • Know that the $1 per survey promise may not apply anymore

Overall, Surveytime is a legitimate survey platform, but in my experience, it is no longer as attractive as it once was.

The removal of the instant-payout model, lower and variable rewards, and recent complaints about payments and customer support make it difficult to recommend today.

You can still earn from it, but if your goal is to maximize your earnings from paid surveys, there are better options available.
